Ligers 4 -3 Twins (gosh!)

Once again, the curse of Brad Radke struck the Twins, and their worst inning was the first, in which Johan Santana gave up all of the Tigers' runs.  A lot of Twins games I've been to recently have had this pattern where they blow the first inning and then win the next seven, but unfortunately still lose the game.  Crazy stuff continues to happen, providing entertainment, like in the seventh when the Twins hit into two double plays... with runners on first and second and one out, Jason Kubel hit into what should have been a 163 double play, but due to a high throw the Tigers missed getting Bartlett at second, and Kubel beat the throw to first.  Since the Tigers expected the double play to end the inning, nobody was paying attention to Nick Punto at second so he just came home.  Then Joe Mauer killed the rally hitting into another double play.  It's kind of rough having a guy who's whole raison d'etre is hitting ground balls over second base when the whole league has him figured out.  I had a good feeling when the dregs of the line-up were doing well, Punto had a couple hits and advanced a runner on a deep fly on his only out, and Luis Rodriguez hit a double for the power-challenged Twins, but it was not meant to be.  On the plus side, the polka room at Nye's was really hopping after the game.
